Show offers chance to stock up on toys, gifts & houseware
before Christmas
Story 11 - Review
FAST-CHANGING trends in gifts, toys and houseware and
shorter products cycles have contributed to the success of the fifth
edition of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) Summer
Sourcing Show for Gifts, Houseware and Toys held in Hong Kong last month.
The other main reason the show attracted more than 18,890 buyers from all
over the world was the ability of the sellers to fulfil orders in time for
the year-end festive-selling season.
The
sourcing show, held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from
July 2-5, did encompass the three pillars of festive-season retail success
— toys, giftware and houseware.
Jeffrey Lam, chairman of the Fair Organising Committee, declared: “In a
time of shorter product cycles and fastchanging trends, the show has
carved out a strong position for itself in just a few years by offering
buyers a last-minute sourcing opportunity for the festive season.
“The show is also the best place to source products from Asian suppliers.”
