Part 1 discussed the quicker-than-expected rebound of the global economy
from a downturn not seen since the Great Depression of the 1930s. It
examined the key drivers of this upswing and the possible factors that might
derail it. Part 2 now reviews the unfolding scenario of the rebound. But is the
nascent rally sustainable? The outlook is generally promising, especially for
Asian retailers as they gear up for the all-important year-end holiday-shopping
season. The experts, however, are cautioning that things would not return to
normal as before the meltdown. What are the features of the “new normal”?
